We offer classes for all levels and it's essential that all clients start with a Beginners class to ensure that they learn the basics before progressing to more advanced levels.

Beginners – designed to introduce you to the fundamental concepts and principles of the Pilates Method. This involves learning and practising core strength awareness, muscular flexibility, joint mobility and postural alignment.

Improvers (Level 2) - once you have established an understanding of the method, we aim to challenge you by teaching a flowing practice. These classes focus on improving your awareness of your personal strengths and weaknesses so you can refine and progress.

Yogalates – a Hybrid class incorporating yoga and Pilates open to all levels. A class that fuses the dynamic elements of yoga with the stabilising and strengthening elements of pilates practice. This class is designed for those that want to be a little more physically active and incorporates standing strength work and Yogic Sun salutations in addition to Pilates matwork based exercises

Antenatal pilates –This class is offered to women at all stages of pregnancy. The class aims to get you 'baby fit' and focuses specifically on the needs of 'mothers to be' taking into account changes in posture, pelvic floor work and strength needs for when the little ones comes along

Corporate Courses

Many employers have recognised that providing health and fitness related benefits to staff can improve morale and create a healthier workforce which can also support productivity and reduce absenteeism.

There is greater emphasis on health and safety at work and ensuring that computers and seating are properly set up, but that doesn't happen in all work places and doesn't stop people developing bad habits such as slouching, sitting awkwardly at their desks or not taking breaks to allow their bodies to loosen up so they don't become fixed.

It is important to accept that aches, pains and stiffness don't have to be something we all just have to live with. With regular Pilates practice, the body can learn to rehabilitate and protect itself and it is possible to undo bad habits which helps with energy levels and enables you to deal with the pressures of work and life without it impacting on your physical wellbeing.

Pilates in the Office

We provide classes to businesses in the City and Canary Wharf. They are held on-site and have proved to be popular with law firms, national newspapers and other organisations where staff are under pressure and can benefit from an hour's break without having to join a gym or build in time for travelling to a venue. And because our classes are non-aerobic, there is no need to shower or have facilities on site.

What is involved:

- all we need is a room with floor space such as a boardroom or meeting room
- minimum of 8 participants
- storage space for the Pilates mats
- if required, we can send information on the classes to employees
- as there is likely to be a range of capabilities, posture types and fitness levels, we teach a modified set of movements so that everyone can benefit from Pilates

Class duration is typically 45-60mins, depending on whether the class is held in the lunch break or after work and they are run over a 10 or 12 week period.

Some companies subsidise the cost for their employees, others just provide the room and staff pay for themselves. If you think you workplace could benefit from Pilates sessions, please contact Kelly.
